Application Procedures Complete the
application (Request to Enter A State-Approved Adult Education Program for
Under-Age Youth) obtainable from the local Adult Education program (provide
supporting documentation).
1. Submit the application and supporting documentation to the local Adult
Literacy Director.
2. The Adult Education Director will review the application package and
enroll the individual based upon receipt of appropriate supporting
documentation.
Admission to the Adult Education program does not constitute permission for
GED Testing. The Application for Special Needs Testing for Under-Age Youth
must be submitted along with appropriate supporting documentation to the GED
Examiner for review and recommendation to the State GED Administrator for
approval/non-approval. Individuals must complete a minimum of twelve (12)
classroom hours prior to applying for GED Testing or score a minimum of 450
points on the official GED practice test or score 80 percent on other
practice tests. To pass the GED test, the examinee must score an average of
450 on each of the five (5) subtests.
